Child protection and safeguarding support for one family
Child protection and safeguarding support for one family
At The Roof of Africa, child protection is not simply a policy requirement — it is at the very heart of everything we do.
Many of the children we support have experienced extremely difficult circumstances, including trauma, family breakdown, neglect, abandonment, poverty, or unsafe living environments. Ensuring that these children are safe, protected, and properly supported is essential not only for their immediate wellbeing, but also for their long-term emotional recovery, education, and future stability.
Our child protection work covers the full safeguarding and welfare process for every vulnerable child in our care and support programmes.
This includes:
Vulnerability assessments
Individual case management
Safeguarding procedures and monitoring
Family tracing and reunification where appropriate
Staff safeguarding training
Engagement with parents and guardians
Child protection education for children themselves
We believe safeguarding is not a single intervention, but an ongoing commitment to creating safe, stable, and nurturing environments where children can heal, grow, and thrive.
Research consistently shows that strong safeguarding systems significantly improve educational outcomes, emotional wellbeing, resilience, and long-term life opportunities for vulnerable children. Children who feel safe are more likely to remain in education, build healthy relationships, and develop the confidence needed to shape positive futures for themselves.
This work can often happen quietly behind the scenes, but it is some of the most important work we undertake.
Every child deserves to feel safe.
Every child deserves protection.
And every child deserves the opportunity to grow up with dignity, hope, and the chance to reach their full potential.
£2,350 will provide all of this and more for one child.
