At The Roof of Africa, we are determined to provide quality education to children living in abject poverty on the slopes of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Our mission begins by constructing schools like our flagship Roof of Africa School in Sonu Village, which acts as the hub for our first educational cluster: the Eastern Central Cluster.
We know many children face barriers such as long distances, overcrowded classrooms, or lack of resources, so we partner with existing community schools to serve as satellite schools within our clusters. This strategic partnership ensures education is accessible to all children, reinforcing our principle that no child should ever be left behind.
Our Roof of Africa School in Sonu Village started this journey and together with our partner satellite schools, our long-term aim is to provide quality education to at least 500,000 children across the Eastern Central slopes of Mt. Kilimanjaro.
Research consistently highlights the transformative power of education, which significantly reduces poverty, child labor, and exploitation. Education empowers communities, strengthens family bonds, and opens doors to opportunities that children from these regions would otherwise never experience.
Our work also emphasizes family reunification, especially for orphans and street children, ensuring they not only learn but thrive in a stable and nurturing environment.
Join us today in creating lasting change—together, let's lift the Roof of Africa and ensure every child has the chance to succeed!
